Real Junk Yard Dogs – Not overseas imitations

Back in 2003 my dad was working on a 1956 Chevy that was going to be aired on American Hot Rod. Like most builds created at the shop a custom one-off set of wheels was machined to put the finishing touches on the car. The result was a modernized version of a classic T70 5 spoke wheel. As soon as those wheels were put on the Junk Yard Dog we knew we had another winner of a design on our hands. It wasn’t long before we decided to make it in a high quality billet and cast centered version in 17-20″ to offer for sale to the public. At Hot Rods by Boyd we continue to manufacture the same exact wheel. While there are other chinese wheels out there that try to imitate and replicate this classic do not be fooled. HRBB is the source for the original version of this design. Just like every other wheel HRBB produces every JYD is made to order. Let’s set the record straight. The Junk Yard Dog that Hot Rods by Boyd produces is the original. If your Junk Yard Dog is 1pc cast and it’s stamped made in China it’s not the real deal. Chris Coddington and Hot Rods by Boyd produce the original JYD designed by the legendary Boyd Coddington. Like all other Hot Rods by Boyd wheels the cast JYD is a custom built 2pc wheel offered in diameters 17, 18 and 20″ in a range of bolt patterns and widths.
