All of the original “billet” wheels were 3pc construction, and most of them were knock offs. Bolt ons with a hex cap to give the same appearance came later. By the time the 1990s hit, the new construction was welded 2pc using spun 5000 series aluminum rims. CNC machines were starting to get more popular, which really changed the game and laid the groundwork for Hot Rods by Boyd to mass produce custom wheels and to be the first true made to order wheel company in the world. #31daysofboyd
