Hot Rods by Boyd and Auto Revolution have put together a video recapping our recent trip to the Good Guys event in Columbus OH. Vinny of Vinny’s Customs brought out the Boydster we have been collaborating on. It was good to have our great friend and designer Eric Brockmeyer on hand to see the progress. As always Good Guys doesn’t disappoint. It’s been a few years since we made the trip back east to the Columbus show but it was well worth it. So many nice cars at this event. It’s also a great time to catch up with people you only see a couple times a year. AZ Pro Performance had all the HRBB wheels on display. Justin Nichols of Nichols Paint and Fab brought out the International Harvester Pickup and it was nice to finally see that with our wheels in person. Thanks to everyone for making this a great trip. Check out the video and enjoy.
Shown here is our Gotcha Series Chinook in 22″ with a combination titanium and polished finish. The Titanium is a ceramic paint and it’s matte finish highlights the detail of the 100% machined in the USA billet aluminum. Like all our Gotcha series wheels the Chinook starts out as a 6061 rotary forging that is heat treated and aged prior to being machined. We manufacture 100% of this wheel in America and we build these to order. The Chinook and the rest of the Gotcha Series is available in 17″ through 24″ diameters in a range of widths to cover most of your custom fitment needs. For more information please call our office located right here in So Cal and we will be happy to speak with you. 714-855-4808.

My father, Boyd Coddington, produced some of the first billet wheels for the hot rods he was building back in the early 80’s. The demand for those billet wheels grew and the custom made to order billet wheel industry was born. Throughout the 80’s and 90’s many iconic designs came out of Hot Rods by Boyd and were featured on high profile Boyd Built cars like Chezoom and Aluma coupe. Today Hot Rods by Boyd is bringing back the cool styles of that era and offering a wider range of fitments and sizes than previously offered. All HRBB Retro Series wheels feature the soft lip and are available in diameters 17″ to 24″ for most 5 and 6 lug applications. Hot Rods by Boyd is also willing to bring back any one of your favorite billet designs from the past. So if you don’t see it in our line up give us a call to discuss making those for you.
Shown here is our Signature Series Camacho in 20″ with our charcoal and polished 2.0 finish. The top of the spokes have our high luster polish exposed while the windows are masked off on the detail of the spokes then sprayed with Cerakote Ceramic Charcoal. We can mask and paint any of our wheels in a number of ways. We are looking to hearing some of your ideas or just let us come up with one to meet your needs. For more information about the Camacho wheel and our finishing capabilities you can contact us at Hot Rods by Boyd direct at 866-612-2693.
Another release into our Retro Series is the Tri-Fan. Designed and built back in 1990 by Boyd Coddington the Tri-Fan was the first 3 spoke true directional wheel to be offered for sale to the public. The Tri Fan turned out to be a truly iconic billet wheel design featured on such vehicles as the Boyd Built, Mitsubishi powered, Aluma Coupe. Today Chris Coddington and Hot Rods by Boyd are bringing back some of the older designs but offering them in a wider range of sizes and fitments. Pictured below is the Tri-Fan in 22″ with a soft lip. For more information about this wheel or if you would like an older design recreated please give HRBB a call at 866-612-2693.

We have the Solution for your polishing woes. Our ceramic clearcoat is a great option to lock in that nice polished or brushed finish. The ceramic clearcoat option comes in gloss and low gloss. For fully polished surfaces and some brushed we recommend the high gloss. For fully brushed wheels the low gloss clear softens up the finish and makes it maintenance free.
