We are introducing a new rear profile option for the Signature Series Amarillo. For most rear applications hub clearance isn’t an issue so we are introducing a new profile for 20″ diameter Amarillos to take full advantage of this and offer a deeper concave profile. Shown here in 20×12 on the left next to a 19×8 standard Amarillo on the right. This set of Amarillos features a combination polished and bronze Cerakote finish. If you have any questions about fitment and if the rear profile is an option for you please give us a shout and we can help you determine if this will work for you.
New Rear Profile Option for the Signature Series Amarillo
How we use Cerakote in the design and building process
Cerakote Colors
At HRBB we take pride in our designs and the custom finishes we come up for them. A big part of the success we have with how are finished wheels come out is due to the amount of time we spend detailing each and every wheel and the quality coatings we apply to them. Hot Rods by Boyd is proud to use Cerakote as our coating of choice for most of our wheel line up. Not only is it a durable finish that holds up to the high temperatures of the assembly process but it has an amazing look to it that transforms even those plainest of billet designs into a work of art. The links below will take you to different examples of the Cerakote colors used on different wheels that have left our shop.
Chinook Titanium and Polished
Shown here is our Gotcha Series Chinook in 22″ with a combination titanium and polished finish. The Titanium is a ceramic paint and it’s matte finish highlights the detail of the 100% machined in the USA billet aluminum. Like all our Gotcha series wheels the Chinook starts out as a 6061 rotary forging that is heat treated and aged prior to being machined. We manufacture 100% of this wheel in America and we build these to order. The Chinook and the rest of the Gotcha Series is available in 17″ through 24″ diameters in a range of widths to cover most of your custom fitment needs. Boydster Project Update
We have been working on a Boydster I project with Vinny’s Designs in Colorado. The Boydster I is running original Boyd Coddington Pro Ride chassis with all machined billet components. Are plan for the Boydster is to make it a tribute to the Boyd cars of the 80’s. We brushed and sprayed all the billet parts with Cerakote low gloss clear. We went with a custom mix red PPG paint. The chassis will be outfitted with Aldan Coilovers AS-655 for the Rear and AS-656 for the front which will be brushed and cleared as well. The Boydster will be running a 383 stroker motor with machined and brushed valve covers and air cleaner. The wheels shown are just rollers. We wil be running a couple different sets of wheels on the Boydster. Look for more pics in the coming weeks as we progress.
